How to Prepare for SSC CGL General Awareness in 60 Days

A week-by-week general awareness plan for SSC CGL and CHSL: static GK, polity, history, geography, economy, science, and a daily quiz checkpoint.

  1. Practice MCQs

SSC CGL general awareness is wide and factual. Sixty days is enough to build a second pass if you already own one standard book. It is not enough to read five books once. The plan below uses one source per subject and a short daily quiz so you notice what you forget.

Eight weeks
DaysFocusCheckpoint
1–10Polity: Parts III and IV, Parliament, amendments in the revision table20 mixed article-number questions
11–20Modern history timeline, 1885–1947, plus one ancient and one medieval chapter you already started15 date questions, closed book
21–30Rivers, parks, and one physical-geography chapterBlank map of ten rivers
31–40Economy basics and banking typesDefine GDP, CPI, repo, CRR without notes
41–50Science facts: units, vitamins, common formulae25 one-line recalls
51–55Current affairs of the last six months, tied to static topicsTen schemes with the ministry
56–60Mixed sets and the questions you missedRedo only the wrong ones

Keep a miss log with three columns: the fact, why the wrong option looked right, and the day you will see it again. Days 2, 5, and 12 work well. Do not add a new book in week 8. A mock score is feedback on that paper. It is not a prediction of a cutoff.
