Important Constitutional Amendments (1st to 106th): A Revision Table for Exams

A revision table of the constitutional amendments most often asked in UPSC and SSC CGL, with year, change, and a short quiz.

  1. How to use the table
  2. Practice MCQs

Amendment questions in UPSC and SSC are usually a year plus one change. You do not need every amendment from the 1st to the 106th. You need the set that changes rights, federalism, local government, and reservations. Use the table as a recall sheet, then close it and write the year from memory.

Amendments worth a second look before prelims

How to use the table

Pair each amendment with one article or one schedule. The 44th belongs with Article 300A and with the emergency rule on Articles 20 and 21. The 73rd and 74th belong together; examiners swap panchayat and municipality. The 101st belongs with the GST Council under Article 279A. The 103rd belongs with Articles 15(6) and 16(6), and it is often confused with earlier reservation amendments.
